Cecelia Ahern

I don’t know if my guess is right, but I think everybody has seen the movie “P.S. I love you”. But few of you know that the movie was actually made after a book written by Cecelia Ahern. She is a pretty young author, having only 36 years old.

She was born in Ireland, Dublin, in 1981. She completed her studies in Journalism and Media communication and wrote her first novel at 21. The novel was actually the famous “P.S. I love you”, published in 2004. It transformed immediately into an international bestseller, and the film directors decided to give it life. So, the movie appeared and surrounded the entire world. After the first novel, she published another novel each year, reaching until now to an incredible number of 15 novels, among which:  “If You Could See Me Now”, “A Place Called Here”, “Thanks for the Memories”, “The Gift”, “The Book of Tomorrow”, “The Time of My Life”, “One Hundred Names”, “How To Fall in Love”, “The Year I Met You”, “The Marble Collector”, “Flawed”, “Perfect” and “Lyrebird”.

I’ve been really lucky with my career. I’ve written a lot of books very quickly. Over 15 years I’ve written 15 books so I’m delivering a book a year. They all represent where I was in my life at that moment.

In 2014, she received the Glamour  prize for the best writer of the year.

Her books have sold until now 25 million copies worldwide, were published in over 40 countries, in 30 languages.

Throughout her teens Cecelia worked as a dancer and singer, performing in dance shows, pantomimes and took part in the Eurosong 2000 in the band Shimma, but currently she no longer performs.

Cecelia is the co-creator, along with Donald Todd, of Golden Globe nominated and Emmy winning ABC Comedy series Samantha Who? and has created many other original TV shows.

In December 2009 she married David Keoghan whith whom she has a daughter called Robin Keoghan.

An now some of my favourite quotes by Cecelia Ahern:

“Finding someone you love and who loves you back is a wonderful, wonderful feeling. But finding a true soul mate is an even better feeling. A soul mate is someone who understands you like no other, loves you like no other, will be there for you forever, no matter what. They say that nothing lasts forever, but I am a firm believer in the fact that for some, love lives on even after we’re gone.”  ― Cecelia Ahern, P.S. I Love You

“You deserve someone who loves you with every single beat of his heart, someone who thinks about you constantly, someone who spends every minute of every day just wondering what you’re doing, where you are, who you’re with, and if you’re OK. You need someone who can help you reach your dreams and protect you from your fears. You need someone who will treat you with respect, love every part of you, especially your flaws. You should be with someone who could make you happy, really happy, dancing on air happy.” ― Cecelia Ahern, Love, Rosie

“Shoot for the moon, even if you fail, you’ll land among the stars”  ― Cecelia Ahern, P.S. I Love You

Aren’t they inspiring? At least they are for me. They are an amazing model of power and willingness of the author. She shows us that, when you love someone, anything can be done.
