About me
Hello everyone. This is me. Who am I? Well my name is Gabriela, but friends call me Gabi (some call me mousie or smurf, cause i am rather short and I am a book worm, which in romanian is literally called a library mouse).
My hobbies are reading (of course) traveling, singing (though I am a terrible singer), dancing, drawing, hiking (yes, even in winters) and, last but not least, I am a capoeira newbie.
In my spare time you can find me under a pile of books. If I am not there, you can find me…under another pile of books.
I usually read psychology or books with strong, complex, psychological characters and literary philosophy. But I often like to get out of my comfort zone and read other genders like romance, speciality literature or even thrillers. As long as there is a good subject that keeps me on, I can read much about anything.
My favourite author is Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt, whom I had the honour of meeting in the autumn of 2019 at a book launch in Bucharest. I really am the luckiest person in the world.
In this blog you can find book reviews, author information, book events, and other stuff. My target is worldwide readers, so my site is mainly in English, but I have created another section with reviews in Romanian, first of all to fulfill my colaboration requirements, and second of all to welcome here all those who don’t know English or actually are Romanian Enthusiasts. So please be free to choose whatever pleases you.
And last but not least, I would like to say that books are me hiding place. They acompany me everywhere I go. I have a book at my home, a book in my bag, on my desk at work. It is all about being prepared.
That being said, I invite you all to discover my blog and hope you find some interesting stuff around here. Feel free to contact me at any time for anything that you want to know and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
